About this product

The Mitsu Knee Immobilizer is a full-length brace that holds the knee in a straight position. Rigid panels run the length of both sides, and four buckle-and-hook straps are tensioned individually along the thigh and calf.

This is a different class of product from a knee sleeve or a hinged brace. A sleeve compresses, a hinged brace controls sideways movement while allowing a bend; an immobiliser prevents the knee bending at all. It is used where the joint needs to be kept still.

The interior is lined with soft plush across its full area, which is what makes continuous wear over days tolerable. Six sizes are offered, S through XXXL, selected on leg circumference.

Important. a knee immobiliser is prescribed after specific injuries and operations. The decision to use one, the number of hours per day and when to stop are all clinical judgements - use it only as directed by your treating doctor or physiotherapist, and follow their instructions on walking and weight-bearing while wearing it.
